Still, an incredible book that is very inspirational when thinking of how to situate sound in a mix and the devices and relations it can take on when put together images.

Part of a necessary and introductory reading in audiovisual design. Definitely worth reading if you are interested in movies or making movies at all, unique perspective we don’t often talk about. Maybe I wasn’t patient enough to really get the full meaning out of it. Artefact, Hypermediacy, and W. A fascinating overview of Chion’s film sound theory concepts.
It’s a little disappointment as everything leads to this point which ends up making you think that film is just something you have to experience, it’s all in that moment to moment. All This Can Happen, by David Hinton and Siobhan Davies, is a film based on a novella by Robert Walser, a writer who owned little, possessed no books, and invariably wrote on secondhand paper.
