Play It From the Heart: Mostly, it’s about not letting fears, doubts, past failures, and other negatives eat up, consciously or unconsciously, your energy, your drive, and your time. The book is all about habits, basic concepts of behaviour, deal with natural instances of psychology and practices which is required to be at the top both professionally and day to day life. It was not wholly clear what relevance the Twelve Disciplines had to the larger goal, other than some sort of Spiritual Exercises in the manner of Loyola.

David Lewis and Darren Bridger. This work has informed many modern self help and success books, some of which have taken the main idea and expanded on it more effectively. Maybe not as easy-peasy as rorothea says, but a clearly achievable and worthy goal.

Without being prescriptive, the book states the fundamental concepts of a good life and act upon the basic concepts of dealing and positioning oneself in the real world. Definitely worth a read. Goodreads helps you keep track of dorotheq you want to read. The Memory Activity Book. This is an odd, maybe brilliant book. A book for our time! I was so disappointed when our dog tore part of it up one day while I was at work.
Brande gives tips and strategies both anecdotal and experiential to take us from wish-washy living to dynamic and potent lives if only we choose to exercise self-discipline and restraint.
This is one of those books that is brilliant in its simplicity and in pointing out a lot of things that you already know but need reminders of. The book is full of useful tidbits–some are dorothes into human nature and some are actions to try.
